Indicator Smoothing

If an indicator line is erratic, with frequent small changes in direction, you may wish to apply additional smoothing. This applies a moving average to the selected indicator in the Indicator Panel.

1. Open the   Indicator Panel.

   

2. Optional Indicator Smoothing is displayed at the bottom center of the Indicator Panel.
3. Select the type of moving average (exponential is recommended).
4. Select the period (3 to 5 days is recommended for short cycle indicators; 20 for medium; 50 for long).

Indicator Smoothing will improve signal reliability, but at the expense of a further time lag.
