Display Part-Periods
To display temporary values for bars or indicators, before completion of the full period, on Weekly and Monthly Charts:
- Select View >> Advanced Options >>
Display Part-Periods (Weeks/Months)
Example
If you select Display Part-Periods, a weekly price chart will display a new bar on Monday to represent trading on that day. The bar dimensions are likely to change on Tuesday, as it now represents two days trading. This will continue until Friday when the week is completed.
Similarly, an indicator based on weekly periods, such as the 30-week weighted moving average or the weekly MACD, will show a line for the part of the week completed. This line will vary as the week progresses until finalized on Friday.
De-Select
To display only completed periods:
- Select View >> Advanced Options;
- Clear the box for
Display Part-Periods (Weeks/Months).
