PC-cillin Personal Firewall

  Installing Incredible Charts

When you install Incredible Charts, PC-cillin Personal Firewall may prompt you to allow access to the Internet.

• Select Allow to enable Incredible Charts to send and receive data.

Altering existing firewall permissions

If Incredible Charts will only work when your firewall is disabled, you will need to alter your existing firewall permissions. The interfaces for PC-cillin 2007 and earlier versions are quite different.

PC-cillin 2007

1. Right-click the PC-cillin icon in the system tray and select Open Main
2. Select Personal Network & Firewall Controls on the left panel
3. Under Personal Firewall, select Settings

4. Select Direct Internet Connection in the window and click the Edit button
5. Select the Program Control tab

6. Select Incredible Charts in the window and click the Edit button.
7. Amend the Action to Allow
8. Click OK and close your Personal Firewall screen.

PC-cillin 2005

1. Right-click the PC-cillin icon     in the system tray and select Open Main
2. Select Network Security >> Personal Firewall
3. Under Edit Profile, select your current profile and click the Edit icon

4. Select the Exception List tab and find Incredible Charts on the list.

5. If Access is shown as Deny or Warn, highlight Incredible Charts on the list and select the Edit icon.
6. Amend the Action to Allow
7. Click OK (twice) and then Apply on the Personal Firewall screen.

  Disabling PC-cillin personal firewall

If you are not prompted when installing Incredible Charts, you may need to temporarily disable your firewall in order to complete the installation:

1. Open the PC-cillin Internet Security program window by going to Start > Programs > Trend Micro PC-cillin > Trend Micro PC-cillin Internet Security
   or right-click the PC-cillin icon     in the system tray and select Open Main.

2. Select the Network Security icon on the left
   
3. Then select Personal Firewall.
4. Uncheck the Enable Personal Firewall option.
5. Click Apply.
6. Be sure to reset the firewall when you have finished testing.

  Incredible Charts Updates

When Incredible Charts updates to a new version, PC-cillin may alert you that the application has been modified and ask whether you want to grant permission:

• Check the What's New? page to confirm that there has been an update
• Select Allow to permit Incredible Charts to both send and receive data.

  Adding Incredible Charts to the Exception List

If Incredible Charts is not on the Exception List:

1. Right-click the PC-cillin icon     in the system tray and select Open Main
2. Select Network Security >> Personal Firewall
3. Under Edit Profile, select your current profile and click the Edit icon

4. Select the Exception List tab and click on the Add icon.

5. Create a new rule with the following settings:

6. Click OK (twice) and then Apply on the Personal Firewall screen.
