Getting Started with Incredible Charts

Enter a stock, share or index code

  1. Select an Exchange on the toolbar
  2. Enter the security symbol
  3. Click the Load Security button     or hit the Enter key.

You can also type the exchange code in the security field:

Exchange Codes ax = Australia
ao = ASX ETOs & WARRANTS
us = NYSE, NASDAQ, AMEX & US INDEXES
uk = United Kingdom
ix = World Indices

Or search or browse the Securities menu.

Select a Chart Type

Use View on the main menu to switch between the various chart types:

Closing Price line only OHLC bar chart OHLC chart reverts to line chart when daily time period /> 6 months Candlestick chart Candlestick chart reverts to line chart when daily time period /> 6 months Daily, Weekly and Monthly charts Equivolume/Candlevolume charts Point and Figure charts view menu

  • close   Close plots a single line representing closing price
  • ohlc   Select OHLC for bar charts with Open High Low and Close
  • candle Candle plots the same information but in candlestick format

Hint Candle/Close and OHLC/Close
Automatically display a closing price line if you select a lengthy chart time period — where the candles become too crowded.

Add an Indicator

  • Click  indicators   on the toolbar to open the Indicator Panel
    (or select Indicators on the main menu).

  • Select an indicator from the left column
  • Adjust the settings (if necessary) in the center
  • Save the indicator > in the right column
  • Click X to close the Indicator Panel

Hint When you save >> an indicator it is saved in whichever project file is open. You do not need to save using File commands.

Pre-set Indicators

To select a pre-set trading system, for example Multiple Moving Averages:

  • Click File on the main menu
  • Select  open project   Open Project on the drop-down menu.
  • Browse the [Pre-set] files
  • Select  multiple moving averages   [Multiple Moving Averages]

Change the Screen View

When you add more than 3 indicators they may appear blank because they are too small to display meaningful information.

full screen view Click this button in the left margin for a full screen view of a chart or indicator.

split screen view Click this button to display a split screen view of an indicator and the price chart.

The indicator will then display on its own below the price chart.

view all indicators Click this button in the left margin to return to the default view with all indicators.


Hint To adjust the relative size of the two charts in split screen view, drag the border up or down with your mouse.


Hint Adjust the number of visible indicator slots displayed below the price chart by selecting View >> Advanced Options >> Visible Indicator Slots.

Change the Time Period

To change the chart time frame, select Time Period on the main menu.

Change to Daily, Weekly or Monthly charts

Select Daily, Weekly or Monthly on the toolbar.
